The Ecomuseum is a cultural centre for the study, preservation and promotion of various aspects of the region's heritage. Saint-Nazaire's great seafaring and industrial adventure began in the middle of the XIXth century around the docks, built to meet the needs of the transatlantic port.

In less than a hundred years, the original village grew into a major urban and industrial centre around its shipyards and the allied industries.

The Ecomuseum will let you discover and share this great human and industrial adventure.

The Ecomuseum, with its collections of artifacts and documents, has many roles. It designs and set up temporary exhibitions, organizes scientific and industrial gatherings and conferences and takes an active part in school projects.

The information centre contains written documents, photographs and audiovisual materials for visitors seeking additional information.
